The avocado, like every year, is the star ingredient of the Super Bowl, despite the problems that could arise in its production, that will not prevent Mexico from being the first exporter in the world.

According to the Association of Producers and Packers Exporters of Avocado of Mexico (APEAM), only for the Super Bowl on February 13, around 140 thousand tons of avocado will be shipped to the United States.

Also, the president of the National Agricultural Council, Juan Cortina Gallardo, mentioned that December and January are the months in which the most avocado is exported to satisfy the strong demand that the Super Bowl represents. According to statistics from Michoacán, the state that produces the most avocado in our country, a truck leaves every seven minutes carrying the fruit.

In Mexico, avocado is also an essential product, it can accompany any dish, but it is an essential ingredient in cakes and tacos. Cortina explained that 97% of the Mexican avocado production is exported, so only three percent stays in our country.
